Caley Baylor will be joining us in mid-August as our counseling intern at Joyful Hearts! She is a master’s level intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Sam Houston State University. Caley is also completing a Play Therapy Certificate through Sam Houston, deepening her knowledge and passion for working with children through developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices. Caley earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University. Caley brings a deep commitment to empathy, creativity, warmth, and connection into the counseling space.
Caley works from a person-centered theoretical framework and believes it’s important to be able to draw upon other theories when needed by the client. She believes that the most important thing in therapy is the therapist/client relationship and that the client feels safe because those are the foundations of therapy work. Caley wants to create a space where her clients feel seen, heard, supported, and understood. Outside of therapy, Caley likes to read, crochet, and spend time with her fiancé, cats, and dog.
