Veronica Rivera, MA, LPC-Associate, NCC, Supervised by Dr. Evelyne Fitzgerald, PhD., LPC-S, RPT-S

Veronica graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy. She is an LPC-Associate in the State of Texas (License #90883) under the supervision of Dr. Evelyne Fitzgerald, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S and a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors (Certificate #1723631). Veronica looks forward to pursuing her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.

She has received training in play therapy, sand tray therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She has also completed Level 1 and Level 2 of Clinical Foundations in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Veronica is also a doctoral student in Counselor Education at Sam Houston State University, where she continues to deepen her clinical and research expertise.

Veronica has experience working with children as young as 3 years old, adolescents, and adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress and burnout, postpartum adjustment, life transitions, grief and loss, ADHD, and neurodiversity, as well as trauma. She incorporates trauma-informed approaches tailored to each client’s needs.

She enjoys meeting each individual exactly where they are by expressing kindness, care, and compassion in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. As a parent, Veronica understands the challenges life can bring and values and honors the trust given by other parents when bringing their child to therapy.
