After supporting the clinicians of Joyful Hearts as a receptionist for three years, she returned to join them! McKenna earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. McKenna believes genuine warmth, empathy, and unconditional acceptance is the foundation of a therapeutic relationship. From this foundation, she seeks to help clients realize their strengths, discover their freedoms, and become their own authentic selves. While she is an existential humanist at her core, McKenna pulls from a variety of counseling approaches to best meet the needs of her clients. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents as they make sense of the world around them. An advocate for the healing power of play, her training in play therapy informs McKenna’s child-centered approach and motivates her to pursue her credential as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

McKenna loves coming home to her fiancé and her goofy lab-mix, Xena. In her downtime, she enjoys beach days with her family, singing karaoke and playing DND with her friends, and clearing her head in the gym. You’ll rarely see her without an oat milk latte.

McKenna provides the following services:

• Play Therapy (ages 3 – 9)
• Expressive Arts Therapy and/or Activity Therapy (ages 10 – 13)
• Individual Counseling
• Group Therapy

McKenna’s session rates:

• 80-minute Intake Session - $150
• 50-minute Adult or Adolescent Session - $100
• 45-minute Play Therapy Session - $100
